It is with great sorrow that we mourn the passing of Grand Master Jae Joon Kim. We will all miss him, each in his / her own way. May his family and our extended Martial Arts family take solace in knowing that he was so well respected by all.

It is my belief that the Martial Arts are bigger than any of us. Even those as great as Grand Master Jae Joon Kim or Hwang Kee. They have given us a legacy to pass to future generations.
With this in mind, I announce that American Kwan Tang Soo Do Federation, Inc. will continue Traditional Korean Tang Soo Do, keeping the same forms and techniques for future generations. I invite you to join this organization. Please contact me for further information.

We are privileged to welcome a new school to our membership. Master Joseph Parkinson's school, Lakes Area Martial Arts in Waterford, Michigan officially joined on March 28, 2009. Along with Master Joe Parkinson are his wife, Master Cathleen Parkinson, their daughter, Master Christin Parkinson and Mr. Richard Sajtos. These Masters, and Senior Instructor, their school and students join the growing numbers of Traditional Korean Tang Soo Do practitioners of the American Kwan Tang Soo Do Federation. |

The Action Radio Network and World Martial Arts Magazine. (2009 Moo Duk Kwan Master of the Year) Hall of Fame June, 2009. In a ceremony in Florida, Master DeFosses was presented the below placque in honor of his induction. This is a very well deserved award for one of the best of the best. With Master  DeFosses is his lovely wife, Ms. Isabelle DeFosses. She is truly a force behind the force. We are lucky and happy to have both these wonderful people in the American Kwan.
Way to go Master Pete! We're all very proud. |
